Freke and Isabelle are two friends travelling to New Zealand and Australia (2015). With a special storytimebus we will read a-loud in villages we visit. You can invite us to come over to your home, school, club or society. This project is made possible by crowdfunding and has started in October 2014.
Both Freke (29 years) and Isabelle (25 years) have a master degree (criminology and sociology) in social science and come from Rotterdam (the Netherlands). We are both familiar with reading stories to children. Isabelle has two nephews and a niece where she reads a-loud to. Children ask many questions to learn and understand how the world works and Isabelle enjoys philosophizing with children. Freke has worked for a company named VoorleesExpress Rotterdam (Storytime-Express). Her task was to guide volunteers who read a-loud at families homes and to train them how to read a loud to children in way that children enjoy it and learn from it in the same time. These volunteers read a-loud at a family home to children for 20 weeks.
Freke and Isabelle both enjoy being with children and give them an experience they will remember for a long time.
